Runnymede and Ankerwycke is a National Trust countryside site near Windsor, where sweeping riverside meadows and historic memorials meet open Thames-side walking. Dogs are welcome throughout the countryside and on the riverside paths, making it a generous destination for long sniff-filled rambles and proper leg-stretching days out with the whole pack. Keep your dog on a short lead around the memorials and livestock areas, but they're free to explore the wider countryside under close control.

The tea-room welcomes well-behaved dogs on a short lead too, so you can settle in together after a muddy loop. The countryside is open dawn to dusk, with the Memorials car park and tea-room running from 09:00 to 17:00 and 09:00 to 16:00 respectively.

There's official on-site parking at the Memorials car park, plus a seasonal Riverside car park when the ground allows. It's a brilliant spot for history-loving dog owners who want space, river views and the freedom to roam without leaving anyone behind.
