Sanders Yard Bistro is a strong Whitby pick when you want your stop-off to feel a little more tucked away and atmospheric than the usual seafront rush. Set in the old town, it has that courtyard-and-cobbles sort of charm that makes even a quick drink or lunch feel faintly cinematic. It works especially well for visitors who like independent places with a bit of personality and a setting that feels woven into Whitby’s older streets. A lovely option for coffee, food, or a quieter pause with the dog, where the surroundings do a lot of the heavy lifting before the menu even arrives.
