Sandilands is a National Trust coastal nature reserve near Mablethorpe on the Lincolnshire coast, where a former golf course has been transformed into wildlife-rich wetlands and walking routes. Dogs on short leads are welcome to explore the outdoor reserve paths, making it a practical spot for stretching legs while watching migrating birds and coastal wildlife.
The car park is open daily from 8am to 6pm, with two hours free parking or £2 for the whole day. National Trust members park free all day. A new café run by Dough & Barley is opening later this summer, which will add refreshment options to the reserve. The beach at Sandilands is dog-friendly year-round, and the reserve offers accessible boardwalks and paths for exploring the developing wetland habitats.
As a dog-friendly day out on the Lincolnshire coast, Sandilands combines open-air nature reserve walking with coastal access and developing visitor facilities. It's the kind of place where ground-nesting birds and on-lead dogs can share the same landscape without anyone needing to miss out on a proper coastal walk.
