The Shoulder of Mutton is a traditional country inn in Kirby Hill, a few miles north-west of Richmond, serving real ales, home-cooked food and a proper welcome to dogs inside. The bar and dining areas are open to four-legged regulars, so you can settle in for lunch or supper without leaving anyone in the car. The kitchen runs Tuesday to Sunday, with hot food served through the afternoon and evening most days.

The menu focuses on classic pub dishes and the ales are well kept. It's the kind of stop where the lead tucks neatly under the table and nobody minds a bit of sniffing around the chair legs.

Closed Mondays, the Shoulder opens from late morning through to evening the rest of the week, making it a handy pitstop for visitors exploring the A66 corridor or the quieter lanes around Richmond. No fancy dog extras confirmed, just straightforward indoor access and a reliable country-inn welcome.
