Sizergh is a historic house, gardens and estate near Grasmere, run by the National Trust as a major Lake District visitor destination. The house itself and formal gardens are off-limits for dogs, but the wider estate opens up brilliantly for a dog day out with plenty of space to explore and sniff around.
Dogs on leads are welcome across the broader grounds, wild play areas and walking routes throughout the property. The on-site shop and café both welcome lead dogs, making it easy to grab a break and refuel without leaving your companion behind.
With visitor parking on-site and substantial grounds to work through, Sizergh makes a solid heritage day out if you're planning a dog-friendly itinerary around the Lake District. The combination of woodland, paths and café access keeps working dogs and their owners occupied for a proper visit.
Good to know:

Dog Policy:
Dogs on leads are welcome across the wider estate, wild play areas, shop and café. They are not permitted in the house, formal gardens or any livestock and nesting bird areas, where only assistance dogs are allowed.
