That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Smugglers Den Inn is a proper Cornish classic: a 16th-century thatched inn tucked away like a secret the locals pretend they don’t share. Expect multiple cosy indoor areas, roaring-fire energy when it’s chilly, and plenty of outdoor space too, from courtyards to beer garden stretches. It’s built for family meals, lingering pints, and that satisfying feeling of finding somewhere with real character. Dogs are welcome inside, which is perfect after a muddy walk or a blustery beach day. Keep the pub manners light but real: paws down, no begging theatrics, and no attempting to investigate the kitchen pass like a tiny sous-chef. Outside, do the good-owner basics. Pick up after your dog and keep gates secure.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside. Keep them calm and close, no begging theatrics, and please don’t let them investigate the bar like they’re planning a heist.
