Snape Maltings is a large cultural and retail destination set along the banks of the River Alde, about six miles from Aldeburgh. The sprawling site brings together independent shops, cafés, galleries, a concert hall and seasonal events, all connected by outdoor paths and courtyards with plenty of free on-site parking, including blue badge spaces. Dogs are welcome in selected areas across the site.

They can join you inside MALT Café & Takeaway, The Shed, the Craft Shop, Snape Antiques Centre and certain areas of the Plough & Sail pub and courtyard. Many other indoor venues, galleries and dining spaces—including River View Café & Bar and the Food Hall—do not allow ordinary pet dogs and The Red House is assistance dogs only.

The visitor centre and box office are open Monday to Saturday 10:00–17:30 and Sunday 10:00–16:00, though individual shops and cafés run their own schedules. It's a good destination for a combined browse, bite and wander, as long as you're happy to plan around the dog-friendly zones.
