Days Out Are For Dogs Too

South Devon Railway is an award-winning heritage steam railway running between Buckfastleigh and Totnes, offering a proper day out for dog owners who want to keep everyone together. Your dog is welcome aboard all standard train services for a small ticket fee, travelling alongside you through the scenic Dart Valley.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and aren't allowed on seats, but they can join you on the train, boat, ferry and bus trips that make up the full South Devon Railway experience. Dining Experience trains, Murder Mystery trains and the seasonal Train of Lights exclude ordinary dogs, so check your chosen service before booking.
Main visitor parking is at Buckfastleigh and tickets can be booked online in advance or bought from the ticket office. It's a generous, transport-based day out that fits beautifully into a wider Devon itinerary, especially when you'd rather not leave your dog behind for half the trip.
