ZOOM OUT TO EXPLORE

South Foreland Lighthouse is a National Trust clifftop destination near Broadstairs, offering lighthouse tower tours, outdoor picnic grounds and lawn games in a dramatic coastal setting. Dogs are welcome in all outdoor spaces, including the grounds and picnic areas around the lighthouse itself, making it a proper day out rather than just a walk.

The lighthouse tower, tea room and shop are assistance dogs only, so outdoor dogs can enjoy the clifftop grounds while their humans explore the tower on tours that run from 11am to 5pm. Short leads are required in car parks, along access roads, near unfenced cliff sections, with livestock and everywhere from 1 March to 31 August.

There's no vehicle access to the lighthouse. Parking is at the White Cliffs of Dover Visitor Centre, about a two-mile walk away along the clifftops, so this is a destination for active dogs and walkers who want a managed outdoor experience with National Trust facilities at the other end.
