South Lodge is a dependable Ripon pub stop for dog owners who want a warm welcome, a family-friendly atmosphere and a place that works whether the plan is drinks, food or just a quiet reset. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle. This great British pub sits at the heart of the local community and offers traditional pub comfort along with beer, cider, wine, cocktails and a dog-friendly beer garden too.

The menu includes pub classics, carvery options and Sunday roasts, with food served Monday to Thursday noon to 3pm and 5pm to 8pm, Friday to Saturday noon to 8pm, and Sunday noon to 8pm. Dogs can join you inside while you eat, which keeps paws and people together. The pub is open Monday to Wednesday noon to 10pm, Thursday noon to 11pm, Friday and Saturday 9am to 1am, and Sunday 9am to 10pm. On-site parking is available.

Relaxed, practical and nicely unfussy, with room for both coffee catch-ups and post-walk pub mode. It is ideal after a walk or town wander when the dog is ready to settle and the humans want something familiar, easy and properly hospitable.
