St Davids Cathedral

St Davids Cathedral sits in the heart of Britain's smallest city, a place of quiet pilgrimage, spectacular medieval architecture and centuries-old stillness. Dogs on leads are welcome in the cathedral grounds, the Refectory and the Cloisters, though the cathedral building itself is reserved for assistance dogs only. It's a proper heritage day out where your dog can join you through much of the visit, even if the soaring nave remains off-limits.

The grounds give a straightforward indoor welcome for a gentle wander before or after exploring the Cloisters and Refectory and the whole site pairs beautifully with a visit to the nearby Bishop's Palace. Entry is by donation and the cathedral is open Monday to Saturday 10:00–16:00 and Sunday 13:00–15:00.

There's no parking at the cathedral itself except pre-booked disabled spaces, so plan to use one of the nearby public car parks in St Davids. The Refectory and shop offer visitor facilities and guided tours can be arranged in advance for groups wanting a deeper dive into the history.
