St Ives Museum is a community-run museum in the heart of St Ives, telling the story of the town through exhibitions on fishing, mining, art and local life. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome inside, making it a rare museum visit where nobody has to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while their companion sniffs the doorstep.
Admission is £5 for adults and free for under 16s. The museum opens Monday to Friday 10:30am–4:30pm and Saturday 10:30am–3:30pm, closed Sundays, and runs from 1 April to the end of October. It sits close to the harbour, so a sniff around the quay before or after fits naturally into the day. The entrance is up steps, though a stairlift is available for the upper floor.
There is no dedicated on-site parking, but St Ives town centre is compact and walkable from nearby public car parks. With dogs welcome inside and a water bowl waiting on the top floor, it is one of the more genuinely dog-inclusive stops on a St Ives day out.
