Stourhead

Stourhead is a magnificent National Trust estate near Mere in Wiltshire, renowned for its Palladian house, landscaped gardens and miles of estate walks. Dogs on short leads are welcome across the garden and the wider estate year-round, making it a proper day out for owners who want beauty, history and plenty of ground to explore together.

Your dog can join you inside the shop, restaurant seating area, visitor reception, top courtyard and the Spread Eagle courtyard, so there's no need to take turns while someone waits outside. The house and garden buildings remain assistance-dogs only, but with such generous estate access and indoor support areas, you'll have the freedom to roam, refuel and browse without the usual logistical tangle.

Paid parking is available on site and National Trust members park for free after validation. The main car park includes EV charging and opening hours vary by season, so check ahead to make the most of your visit.
