Straidkilly Nature Reserve is a managed woodland reserve near Carnlough, open to the public with dogs welcome on lead at all times. The reserve offers a mix of mature woodland and wildlife interest, with a short trail winding through the terrain and a picnic area for a pause between sniffs. The reserve is open around the clock and there are no formal paths, so expect medium terrain with some steep inclines.
Dogs must stay on lead throughout to protect ground-nesting birds and wildlife. Roadside parking is available near the old quarry; take care not to obstruct the gates.
This is a quiet spot for dog owners after a straightforward woodland outing with a bit of wildlife interest. The lack of surfaced paths means it suits dogs and humans confident on uneven ground and the lead rule keeps everyone safe while your dog investigates the woodland floor.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Free treats available

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome on lead at all times across the reserve. There are no formal paths and the terrain includes steep inclines, so keep your dog close to protect wildlife and for their safety on uneven ground.
