It serves hearty pub food all day and offers a spacious beer garden, skittle alley, and function room, while well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bar area. It is also nicely placed for visits after exploring Chesil Beach, Abbotsbury Swannery, or the subtropical gardens, so it works well as part of a wider day out rather than just a stand-alone meal stop. Dependable, friendly, and refreshingly unflashy.
