The Angel Inn is a traditional village pub in Gilling West, a couple of miles north of Richmond. Dogs are welcome inside the cosy bar, so the whole group can settle in together when you stop for lunch or an evening pint. That straightforward access is the detail that turns a quick drink or meal into a genuine break for the whole group.

The pub serves food and has built a strong reputation with walkers and touring visitors who need a friendly, unfussy spot where the lead can stay neatly under the table. It opens Monday evenings from 4pm and Tuesday to Sunday from midday.

CAMRA marks it as dog friendly and the bar has that relaxed, lived-in feel where nobody minds a wet nose at the door. Useful for breaking up a tour of the Dales or warming up after a muddy loop around the village.
