The Boatyard Brunch Café

The Boatyard Brunch Café is an independent, dog-friendly café near Cullercoats Bay in Whitley Bay, with a strong brunch-and-speciality-coffee focus. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement shuffle while someone else orders.

It uses local suppliers, serves an evolving menu, and keeps a relaxed walk-ins-only setup that suits easy coastal wandering. Open daily 8am–5pm, with full brunch served until 3pm and a reduced menu until 4pm, then drinks and cakes until close. The mood is casual and capable, with good coffee, cakes and brunch doing most of the talking.

It's a very reliable stop after the beach, especially when you want somewhere that feels popular for good reason rather than just conveniently placed. Dogs can settle in while you work through the menu, which makes it useful for wet-weather days and post-walk refuelling alike.
