The Bookshop in Hereford is a café-restaurant with an open kitchen, charcoal-fired oven and a brunch-to-evening menu that runs six days a week. Dogs are welcome inside in the bar-restaurant area with high tables and the heated patio, which means most of the party can stay together while someone orders coffee, brunch or one of the grass-fed steaks cooked over Bertha the oven.

Brunch runs from 9am to 3pm Monday and Wednesday to Saturday, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available, and the evening menu appears Wednesday to Saturday with a focus on British ingredients and bold flavours. Sunday brings the award-winning Sunday lunch from 12:30pm to 3pm, plus brunch earlier in the day. The concise daytime offering includes great coffee and cakes, so there's useful fuel whether you're planning a morning mooch or an afternoon pause before tackling the rest of town.

Dogs can join you at the high tables in the bar-restaurant zone and out on the heated patio, which keeps wet-weather plans simple and means nobody needs to do the pavement shuffle while you browse the menu or wait for a table. The venue is closed on Tuesdays.
