That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Bull’s Head is one of those Margate Old Town pubs that gets the balance just right — elevated enough to feel like a treat, but still relaxed enough that everyone (dogs included) can properly settle in.

Inside, it leans into character without trying too hard — high ceilings, local artwork and open fireplaces give it that warm, slightly polished feel, while still holding onto proper pub energy. It’s the kind of place where you can land after a breezy seafront walk and immediately feel like you’ve chosen well.

The food brings a bit more substance than your standard pub stop, with a seasonal, locally sourced menu that makes it just as suited to a sit-down meal as it is to a slower drink. Outside seating keeps things flexible when the weather behaves, and the Old Town location puts you just a short wander from the beach.

It’s an easy “we’ll just pop in” that turns into a full, settled stop — equal parts comfort and occasion.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside, with water bowls and treats provided, plus dog-friendly beer available to purchase. A relaxed but slightly elevated setting, so best suited to well-behaved dogs who can settle comfortably.
