The Coach & Horses is a classic town-centre pub on Dig Street in Ashbourne and an easy stop to weave into a dog-friendly day exploring the Peak District gateway town. It sits right in the middle of Ashbourne's historic streets, making it ideal for visitors who have been pottering around the shops or heading back from a countryside walk and need a proper sit-down. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody has to do the pavement-waiting shuffle.
Inside you'll find the warm, relaxed atmosphere of a traditional British pub, with a good range of beers, cider, wine and cocktails behind the bar, plus regular live music and events adding a bit of evening buzz. Expect friendly service, a sociable local feel and plenty of space to settle in after a day of wandering.
Water bowls are available for thirsty explorers, which is useful when your dog has spent the morning acting like they personally conquered the Peak District. It's a handy refuel stop where paws and people can rest together without splitting up.
