The Crafty Cold Well Micropub in Whitley Bay is a proper small-scale ale stop with a straightforward local feel, built around real ales, craft beer, wines and fizz rather than anything overly polished or try-hard. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while someone else enjoys a pint.
It has that easy micropub rhythm where people come to chat, settle in and keep things simple, with dog-friendly credentials adding to the welcoming mood. The focus is on good drinks and relaxed conversation rather than food or fuss. Open Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm, and Friday through Sunday from 4pm.
A good choice for a relaxed drink that feels more neighbourhood than nightlife, and the sort of place that suits an unfussy pint after a beach walk or town wander. Paws and people can settle in together without drama.
