Set right on Abbey Green in the heart of Bath, The Crystal Palace is one of those historic pubs you almost stumble into mid-wander and end up staying longer than planned. Just moments from the Roman Baths and Abbey, it sits right on the city's main sightseeing trail, making it an easy stop between exploring and settling in. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while the rest of the group finds a table.

Inside, it's a traditional Georgian pub with a cosy, slightly tucked-away feel, centred around a main bar with adjoining rooms, a conservatory and a rear courtyard for when you want a bit more space. The building itself dates back to the 1600s, giving it that proper old-pub character you can feel the second you step in.

It's the kind of place that works whether you're after a quick pint between sights or a longer sit-down with food, and the dog-friendly welcome means everyone can stay together while you regroup after navigating Bath's busy streets.
