The Curious Mr Fox is a café and restaurant on Saddler Street in central Durham, a short walk from the cathedral route. Dogs are welcome inside the downstairs bar and The Ivy Room, so the whole group can settle in together for brunch, lunch or an evening meal. Water bowls are provided.
The kitchen serves food from Wednesday to Sunday, with weekend brunch from 10am and quieter midweek lunch hours. Opening times stretch later into the evening on Fridays and Saturdays. The venue is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. That straightforward access is the detail that turns a quick drink or meal into a genuine break for the whole group.
It's a useful city-centre stop when you need proper food, a sit-down break and a dog-friendly table in the heart of Durham. Well-behaved dogs are welcomed and there's no need to leave anyone outside while you eat.
