The Delaval Arms is a historic coastal pub in Old Hartley, a short hop from Whitley Bay, where dogs are welcome inside the bar area. That simple inclusion is especially useful when the weather turns or the day needs a proper sit-down pause.

It's a proper neighbourhood pub with food served daily and your dog can settle in beside you while you order lunch or a pint. The kitchen runs Monday to Saturday from midday until 8pm and Sunday until 4.30pm, so there's plenty of scope for a longer stop with the whole crew. There's a free parking lot on site, which removes the usual coastal hunt for a space.

The pub itself is open daily from midday, closing at 10pm Monday to Thursday, 11pm Friday and Saturday and 9pm on Sunday. That straightforward access is the detail that turns a quick drink or meal into a genuine break for the whole group, and it removes the familiar doorway calculation over who waits outside with the dog while everyone else heads in.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside in the bar area, so the whole group can settle in over food and drink without the pavement-waiting shuffle.
