That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Dispensary in Heysham, near Morecambe, is a dog-friendly café and wine bar that understands real life. Dogs are welcome inside, so you can swing by for a calm brew and a catch-up, then return when the evening mood arrives and suddenly it's a glass of wine and a longer sit. Nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle, whatever the time of day.

It's open most days (closed Mondays) with generous hours that cover both planned meet-ups and spontaneous "let's just go somewhere" moments. The vibe is relaxed and social, with a menu of drinks that covers both wholesome and slightly celebratory. Coffee by day, wine by later, and enough warmth to suit slow afternoons as well as evening chatter.

Ideal for coastal days that need a cosy landing spot, especially when the weather turns or you just want somewhere welcoming to settle. Dogs can stay under the table while you decide whether it's a coffee kind of visit or a wine kind of visit.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside. Coffee-by-day, wine-by-night, but always good manners: settle under the table and don't flirt for charcuterie.
