The Dog And Rabbit is an independent micropub in the centre of Whitley Bay, bringing together a carefully chosen beer range, a welcoming local atmosphere and a properly dog-friendly approach. Dogs are welcome inside, so the whole group can settle in together after a town-centre stroll or a visit to the nearby seafront. The micropub opens Tuesday to Friday from 3 pm to 10 pm, Saturday from 1 pm to 10 pm and Sunday from 3 pm to 10 pm, closed Mondays.
Expect a small, friendly space with a strong focus on quality ales and conversation – the kind of place where a dog can claim floor space without causing a fuss. The pub brews its own beers on-site and rotates a changing selection of guest ales from local breweries, alongside craft beers and ciders. There's no TV or piped music, just proper conversation and board games.
Visitors praise the beer selection, relaxed atmosphere and genuine welcome for dogs and their humans. Whether breaking up a walk or finishing the day with a dog at your feet, this is a useful and easy town-centre stop where both of you are wanted.
