That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Tucked just outside the centre of Wadebridge, The Earl at Egloshayle is the sort of pub that feels built for muddy boots, slower evenings and dogs collapsing happily under the table after a long Cornish walk. Set inside a characterful 17th-century inn with low beams, cosy corners and a log burner for colder days, it leans fully into that proper country pub atmosphere without losing its relaxed feel.

Dogs are welcome inside, making it an easy stop after Camel Trail wanders, beach trips or day-long exploring around North Cornwall. There’s a warm, unfussy rhythm to the place with seasonal food, pub classics, local ingredients and the kind of setting where “quick drink” plans tend to quietly unravel into staying for dinner.

It works particularly well for dog owners wanting somewhere genuinely comfortable rather than simply dog-tolerant. A proper indoor reset when Cornwall weather starts throwing curveballs.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside at The Earl at Egloshayle, where muddy paws, countryside walks and proper pub settles all feel entirely expected. Think beams, fires, relaxed pub energy and at least one dog attempting to deploy “I have never been fed before” eyes near the pie menu.
