That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Factory Tap in Kendal is a quirky mill-building taproom where beer is treated like a hobby, a conversation starter, and occasionally a life philosophy. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement shuffle while someone else samples the board. The space feels characterful rather than polished, with little corners to perch in while you debrief the day's walk and your dog does a slow celebrity lap.

Expect a rotating line-up of cask and keg options, plenty of interesting pours to try, and the kind of laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to stay for "one more half" until you've sampled half the board. It often leans into pop-up food nights too, so your drink can come with a bonus plate when your willpower collapses. Staff are friendly, choice is strong, and the whole place has that "regulars and visitors happily mixing" vibe.

Come thirsty, leave cheerful, and accept you'll be talking about hops on the way home. Dogs can settle in while you work through the taps, making it a useful wet-weather stop or post-walk reward where paws and people stay together.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside, so keep them on a lead and under control while you work through the taps. Bring a comfy settle spot if your pup likes to supervise in style.
