The Fairview Gardener is a dog-friendly garden centre and nursery in Birdwood, near Gloucester, with dogs welcome inside the garden centre areas. Described as "a centre for gardeners, not a garden centre," it's built around inspiration as much as shopping, with plants laid out to help with garden design, plant pairing and ideas for your own outdoor space.

The nursery and horticultural shop cover a wide range of gardening needs, from plants and composts to feeds, tools, seeds, bulbs and seasonal garden sundries. There's also an award-winning gift shop, making it a good stop for browsing beyond the plant benches, especially if you came in for one thing and somehow left with half a boot full of leafy decisions.

Dogs are welcome, with water bowls available, and there is a doggy menu on site. The tearoom is also part of The Fairview Gardener, which makes this a useful dog-friendly Gloucester stop where you can browse the garden centre first and know there's a food-and-drink option nearby too.
