The Fleece is a locally run harbour-side pub with lovely views and a warm, relaxed atmosphere that makes it an easy favourite for a Whitby stop with the dog. It has that friendly, unfussy character that works whether you are calling in for a pint, a meal, or just a breather after wandering the waterfront. The setting adds plenty of charm, but it still feels grounded and welcoming rather than overly polished.

A great choice for a dog-friendly pub stop where everybody can settle in, refuel, and watch the harbour world trundle by.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are very welcome here and quickly settle into the easy, relaxed vibe. They’re asked to stay on the floor so everyone can move around comfortably, though smaller dogs are very welcome to claim a lap spot if that’s more their style. There are water bowls ready and free doggy treats on the bar, so they’ll be well looked after from the moment they arrive 🐾
