The Fulford Arms in York is less a standard pub and more a proper grassroots music venue with a bar attached, giving it a stronger identity than the average pint stop. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while the band sets up. It hosts regular live shows and has that independent, slightly rough-edged energy that usually means a more memorable night out, all amps, posters and "just one more" decisions.
When gigs aren't on, it settles back into a relaxed local feel, with a beer garden that gives everyone a bit of breathing room. Water bowls are available, and there's plenty of space for dogs to settle in without fuss. They also host a greyhound walk on the first Sunday of every month, which is a lovely touch for anyone new to the area or just looking for some friendly walking company.
It's an easy, unfussy stop where dogs can just exist alongside you, whether you're catching a band or just nursing a pint. No dog menu or treat stash, but the welcome is genuine and the vibe is relaxed enough that four-legged company fits right in.
Good to know:
Water bowls available

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside. Music venue energy is great, but your dog does not need to become part of the headline act.
