The Garden Room in Shrewsbury is an independent shop packed with houseplants, pots, terrariums and botanical gifts, and dogs are welcome inside. It has the sort of thoughtful, design-led feel that turns a simple look around into a full internal debate about where a new plant could live and whether one plant ever really arrives alone.
This is a nice one for a slower Shrewsbury mooch, especially when the day calls for small-shop charm rather than big-chain efficiency. It feels calm, characterful and full of things that are much harder to leave behind than expected, making it very good for gift hunting, home-plant fantasies and anyone who likes their browsing leafy, stylish and mildly dangerous for the wallet.
Dogs can browse alongside, so plant shopping does not have to become a one-human-at-the-door arrangement. Expect a calm little wander, plenty of leafy temptation and a dog politely pretending not to care while everyone else gets emotionally attached to a fern.
