Days Out Are For Dogs Too

A historic village pub in the heart of Chesterton, sitting right on the edge of the Cam with some of the best riverside views in the city. This is one of those spots where the setting does the heavy lifting — a picturesque garden leading down to the water and rowers passing by from morning through to golden hour.
Inside, it’s full of character — exposed beams, cosy corners, and that slightly wonky charm that only comes with age. Expect a strong line-up of cask ales, wines, and fresh, home-cooked food that turns a quick stop into a proper sit-down.
It’s a front-row seat to Cambridge’s rowing scene too, especially during the May Bumps and Town Bumps when the river comes alive. Perfect for post-walk lingering, with dogs settling in easily while you watch it all unfold.
Dog Policy:
Dogs welcome inside on lead. Please keep pups close to your table.
