The Groes Inn sits in Tyn-y-Groes, just a couple of miles from Conwy Castle, and claims the title of the oldest licensed pub in Wales — licensed since 1573. Dogs are welcome inside the bar, which makes it a natural stop when the weather turns or the day calls for a proper sit-down rather than another car park snack.
The bar serves food and keeps full pub hours, with food available daily from noon. Traditional Welsh pub food, locally brewed cask ales and a real fire in the colder months make it easy to settle in. Free on-site parking means no roadside shuffling, and the inn also has rooms if the day turns into a longer stay.
Handy for anyone combining a Conwy Castle visit with a walk along the estuary — dogs can join at the bar, muddy paws and all, and the whole group gets a proper break rather than a pavement wait.
Good to know:

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside the bar, where food is served too — so nobody has to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while the humans eat.
