Days Out Are For Dogs Too

The Hele Bay Pub in Ilfracombe is the kind of place that pairs beautifully with a coastal walk and a dog who's finally tired enough to behave like a polite citizen. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle after exploring the bay. Open Monday to Saturday 12pm–10pm and Sunday 12pm–6pm, with food served evenings Monday to Friday, lunchtime and evening Saturday, and Sunday lunch.
Expect classic pub comfort, a relaxed atmosphere, and that lovely "come in and stay a while" feeling that makes you forget the wind tried to steal your hat earlier. It's ideal for lunch after exploring the bay, or an easy dinner when you want something hearty without any fuss. The vibe is friendly and welcoming, which helps dogs settle and helps humans stop apologising for damp sleeves. There's a large council car park at the rear.
Bring water, bring a towel if your dog is the type to collect puddles, and enjoy the simple joy of good food while your dog practises their favourite trick: being asleep until the moment a chip appears.
