The Higgledy Pig is one of those Robin Hood’s Bay finds that makes a village wander feel even better. Tucked into the lower part of the Bay, this quirky little shop is packed with gifts, fossils, craft beer and Yorkshire-made bits that are much more fun than the usual seaside tat. For dog owners visiting town, it is a great browse stop when the paws need a slower pace but nobody is quite ready to head back yet. It suits that lovely holiday moment where the dog is sniffing doorways, the humans are “just having a quick look,” and suddenly someone is buying treats, homeware, or something wonderfully unnecessary. Small, characterful and properly Bay, it adds a cheerful rummage break to the day.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside. It is the perfect place for a cheerful browse, as long as the dog keeps their excitement level below “tiny seaside tornado”.
