The Jolly Fisherman in Hastings is a tiny seafront micropub that pairs beautifully with a beach walk and a proper thirst. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle after a long stomp along the front.

Great for craft beer, cask ales, and a wide range of ciders, with bar snacks to keep things simple. It's a cosy one-room spot with a woodburning stove in winter, and it gets busy at weekends—arrive early or be prepared to wait for a seat. Open from 4pm Tuesday to Friday, 2pm Saturday and Sunday, closed Mondays.

A solid wet-weather option when the seafront turns blustery, and the kind of place that makes sense after salty air and hopeful noses have done their work. No parking on site, but it's right on East Beach Street in the Old Town.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Free treats available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle. Keep dogs on a lead and off the seating—it's a tiny space and gets busy.
