That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

A proper side-street pub just off Mill Road that feels like it's been reset to what pubs are meant to be — great beer, good company, and nothing fighting for your attention. It's proudly screen-free, so the focus stays on conversation, board games, and the gentle hum of a pub doing its thing properly.

Inside, it's all real fires, simple seating, and that cosy, traditional feel that makes it easy to settle in. The beer is the main event, with a strong, ever-changing line-up of cask ales and ciders, while outside there's a sun-trap garden and a covered, heated space that quietly become year-round favourites.

This is one for slowing things down after a walk — less noise, more connection. Dogs are warmly welcomed too, as long as they keep their humans in check. A true local with its priorities exactly right.
