The Library is a cosy and slightly quirky bar in the centre of Whitley Bay, with local craft beer, national taps, cocktails, wines, a beer garden and a log fire helping it flex nicely across the seasons. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while someone else orders.
It feels smart without being stiff, making it a good option for anything from casual drinks to an evening catch-up that runs longer than planned. There’s no full food menu, but bar snacks are available if you fancy something alongside your drink. Opening hours run from Tuesday to Thursday 16:00–midnight, Friday and Saturday 12:00–midnight, and Sunday 12:00–22:30. The beer garden offers outdoor space when the weather plays along, while the log fire makes wet-weather visits feel properly settled.
A handy choice when you want somewhere with a bit of style but still enough warmth to feel easygoing, and where dogs can join you for the whole visit.
