The Lister Arms is a stone-built inn in Malham, roughly six miles from Grassington, where dogs are welcome inside the bar area. Food is served throughout the bar, so you can settle by the fire with your dog under the table while you eat. The restaurant is dog-free, but the bar offers proper seating and a full menu for visitors.

It's a useful stop for walkers coming from the Grassington side of the Dales and the bar has the kind of atmosphere that makes a wet-dog pit stop feel perfectly normal. Leads can tangle round chair legs, but nobody minds.

The dog policy is straightforward: dogs are welcome in the bar area, including by the fire, but not in the restaurant. That's clear enough to plan around and the bar serves food all day so you won't need to leave your dog outside while you eat.
