That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Magna Carta in Lincoln is a classic pub stop when you want something easygoing and your dog wants a front-row seat to human life. Dogs are welcome downstairs, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle. It's great for post-walk refuelling, meet-ups that don't require dressing up, and those "one quick drink" plans that quietly become an entire evening.

Your dog can settle at your feet while you unwind, then spring into action for the occasional head scratch from passing admirers. Water bowls and treats are on hand, plus there are some menu items dogs will love. The best bit is how low-effort it feels: you arrive, you relax, and nobody acts surprised that a dog is part of the plan.

Bring a small blanket if your pup likes a comfy nest. Bring a sense of humour if they prefer to sprawl like they pay the bills. Either way, it's a solid Lincoln staple for dog-owning days.
