The Melton Constable is a traditional coastal pub on the edge of Whitley Bay, serving real ale, home-cooked food and a warm welcome to visitors heading between Whitley Bay and Seaton Sluice. Dogs are welcome inside when food is not being served, so you can settle in at the bar with your dog before or after meal times.
Food service runs Monday 12pm–2:45pm, Tuesday to Saturday 12pm–2:45pm and 5:30pm–7:45pm and Sunday 12pm–5:45pm. Outside these hours, the bar is open and dogs are welcome throughout. The pub has a small car park, with plenty of street parking nearby if needed.
The pub offers a straightforward coastal stop for dog owners who want to time their visit around the kitchen schedule. It's a handy place to know if you're planning a day along this stretch of the North East coast and need a dog-friendly bar with solid food hours.

Dogs are welcome inside when food is not being served, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle. Time your visit before or after the kitchen hours and you can settle in at the bar together.
