The Millstone at Barnack is a dog-friendly gastropub in the village of Barnack, a short drive south of Stamford. Dogs are welcome inside the restaurant, so you can settle in together for a proper meal without having to leave anyone outside. Water bowls are on hand and blankets are available in the lobby if your dog fancies a cosy lie-down.

Food is served throughout the week, from coffee and cake to full lunch and dinner service, plus weekend breakfasts and Sunday lunch. The menu leans gastropub, with a relaxed indoor setting that works just as well for a mid-walk break as it does for a longer dinner with the dog under the table.

The pub is closed on Mondays, but open from late morning or lunchtime most other days, with evening service running until 10pm or 11pm depending on the day. It's the kind of place that makes a dog day out in the Stamford area feel a bit more civilised.
