The Mug House is a historic country pub in Claines, just outside Worcester, and is often noted for its unusual past as a former church ale house. Visit Worcestershire describes it as having stone floors, real ale, a garden, and a reputation for being haunted, which rather brilliantly gives it both practical dog-friendly flooring and a touch of gothic pub folklore. It feels less like a polished dining room and more like the kind of old pub people actively hope to stumble across. A characterful stop for ale, old beams, and dogs completely unfazed by spectral rumours.
