That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Tucked away up on Chester’s historic Rows, The Naughty Badger is the kind of place you don’t just find… you’re let in on it. Follow the stairs, step into the “secret sett,” and suddenly you’re in a cosy little world of brunch plates, good coffee, and that smug feeling of knowing a spot not everyone else has clocked yet.
It’s small, intimate, and full of character, with just a handful of tables inside and a few alfresco spots perched above the street for prime people-watching. The menu leans heavily into brunch done properly, from stacked breakfasts and Eggs Benedict to indulgent sandwiches, cakes, and the kind of extras that quietly turn a quick stop into a full pause.
Everything’s cooked fresh, with a big focus on local suppliers, and there’s a relaxed, independent feel running through it all. It’s also one of those rare places that manages to feel both tucked away and right in the middle of everything… a calm pocket above the city’s hum.
And yes, the name fits. It’s a little bit cheeky, a little bit indulgent, and very easy to get attached to.
