The New Inn is a friendly locals' pub on the eastern edge of St Andrews, serving food and welcoming dogs inside. It sits conveniently close to East Sands, making it a practical choice for a post-walk pint and a bite to eat with your dog settled under the table.

Food is served in the bar throughout the week, with lunch available from midday and hot meals resuming early evening Monday to Friday. The pub opens at 11 am most days and keeps sensible closing hours, so there's room in the schedule for a proper sit-down after a salty beach ramble.

Dogs are welcomed in the bar area and the tone is relaxed and unpretentious. It's the sort of place where sandy paws are expected rather than frowned upon and where the whole group can settle in without fuss.
