That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Old Drapery is a handy Robin Hood's Bay shop for dog owners who fancy a proper holiday browse without drifting into generic bucket-and-spade territory. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while someone else tackles the shopping.
This long-running family business is packed with women's fashion, waterproof coats, shoes, boots, bags, wellies and all sorts of practical coastal extras, which makes it especially useful when the Bay's weather starts freelancing. There is also plenty of Coast to Coast memorabilia, so it works nicely whether you need something helpful, something giftable, or something you definitely did not plan to buy.
For visitors with dogs, it is a lovely slower-paced stop during a village mooch, especially when the dog is happily tootling beside you and everyone is pretending this is a sensible, restrained look round. Reader, it rarely is.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside. Keep them close while browsing, especially around clothing and displays, and aim for charming shopping companion rather than damp retail whirlwind.
