The Old Eyre Arms is a traditional country pub tucked away in the hamlet of Hassop, just outside Bakewell, with centuries of history and the kind of cosy, low-beam atmosphere that makes you instantly slow down. Inside, you’ll find open fires, separate snug-style rooms and a proper Peak District pub feel, while the menu leans into hearty British food done well, alongside real ales and a solid drinks selection.
It’s the sort of place that works perfectly as a destination stop rather than a quick pop-in — especially given its spot near the Monsal Trail and surrounding walking routes, where a “we’ll just go for a wander” easily turns into a full pub session.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome in the bar area, making this a classic post-walk pub stop where muddy paws and tired legs are very much expected. Think biscuits, fireside flops and a “you’re not moving for a while” kind of settle. 🐾
