That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Ostrich is one of Bristol's standout harbourside pubs, sitting right on the water with a relaxed, social atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in at any time of day. Dogs are welcome inside, so everyone can pad in together and find a spot, whether that's a cosy corner in winter or a table near the door when the place fills up.
Food and drink are well covered across the day, from brunch through to dinner, with pub classics, cocktails and award-winning Butcombe beer all in the mix. There's a large riverside beer garden for warmer days, and the outdoor kitchen adds another layer when the weather's good. Upstairs, the Top Deck offers a more private space with views across the harbour.
It's the kind of place that works for everything from quick drinks to full, drawn-out catch-ups, with quirky interiors and a flow that shifts naturally with the seasons. Dogs settle into the rhythm of it all, and nobody needs to split up or do the pavement shuffle while someone grabs a pint.
Good to know:

Treats available

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle. Keep them on lead and settled under the table while you work through the menu.
