The Perch is one of Oxford’s great pub classics, and for dog owners it is especially rewarding because of where it sits. Just a short walk from the Isis and Port Meadow, this historic pub combines a traditional thatched building with one of the city’s most admired gardens, making it a natural finish line after a proper leg stretch.
The setting does a lot of the heavy lifting, but the food and terrace mean the stop itself more than holds up. It is an Oxford institution for good reason.
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome, which is exactly what you want from a pub reached after a proper walk across Port Meadow. Muddy-paw pub energy is very much part of the charm here, but keep your four-legged walker friendly, close and not too convinced the garden was designed purely for them.
